Baby Book Photo

The baby books that I have for Henry and the baby each have a spot for a picture of Mom & Dad before the baby came. We took the most recent one at the cottage this weekend since we didn't know when there would be someone else available to take it later.

Here is the picture from Henry's book for comparison...

One Week Remaining!

We are one week from the due date! It has gone so fast...especially this last month. All of the sudden we realized that the baby is going to be here, and hopefully soon! We have so much to do yet. It will all get done I'm sure, at least the important things.

Henry is settled in his new "Big Boy" room and is trying out all of the baby's toys. He sees my belly, lifts my shirt and says "baby come out now!" We have to agree!

Reaching the Limit

Last night Scott told me that he can't hug me anymore, just not in so many words.

"There is just too much belly for it to feel natural."

"I don’t have King Kong arms to stretch around you."

At least Henry will still hug me...sometimes.

Small is a Relative Term

This entire pregnancy I have been told that my belly is small for how far along I am. I just tell them it is hidden by the clothes.

Yesterday I went to the doctor for my 35 week appointment. The doctor confirmed that I was measuring small. However, she put it all in perspective...

Small for me still means at least a 9 pounder!

The Bump Upon the Bump

My bump has a bump. My belly button timer has been going off for quite some time now. Some people comment on it, others choose to ignore it. I am both of those people at different times. Sometimes I don't mind that it sticks out further than my already protruding bump, or I forget that it is even there. Other times though I'm a bit self-conscious of it.

The other night it was intriguing me. The fact that there are no more crevices, it is completely turned inside out. It goes back in when I lay down, but I can push it like a pop button on a sealed jar when I sit up. Then I squeezed it, pinched it really. Nothing happened. I didn't expect it to.

I told Scott later what I had done and that it was at that point a little sore. His response was that I should be thankful I have a button* and should not abuse it in that way.

I haven't touched it again.

*Scott is one without a belly button and gets upset during any belly button misconduct because of it.
